A couple of Mondays ago, I met with Madeleine Dore, the Editrix of Extraordinary Routines, a beautifully in-depth photo journal/diary/zine focused on the minutiae of a creative person’s day. I am honored to be featured in an upcoming Extraordinary Routine interview and will certainly share it with you once published. Madeleine and I met through my masterclass for writers Leader of the Pack, and I invited her to catchup for our interview at one of my favorite Thornbury breakfast venues Pearl Oyster. Cue: decaf coffees, green teas and blueberry bagels with cream cheese and jam.

Pearl Oyster has the decor of a 1950’s Australian-Chinese restaurant, now serving breakfast basics and pan-Asian treats (they’ve got a meat-free Monday menu too). With a cute courtyard at the back and located in Miller Street (which always makes me think of 1940’s Melbourne suburbia), you can’t go wrong with a catchup here. Being interviewed is always a special occasion, so I wore a Cameo The Label shirt in a Disney-ish Bambi print I’d been saving for the right moment – I picked up this beauty from The Estelle Store in Ivanhoe.
