A little while ago, I was sent a mystery box containing a perfect, Ruby Slipper red cape from Melbourne designer Mariska of The Professor’s Daughter. It is truly one of the most beautiful gifts I have received to feature on the Ruby Slipper blog – in fact, Mariska made a series of them tailored to the style of different Melbourne bloggers including Cheryl from BusinessChic and Marianne from Esme and the Laneway. The Professor’s Daughter is a label whose vision is vintage without the faff – strong colors, retro shapes and a whole lotta love. There’s even a mystery inscription on the polka-dot lining, a little detail that makes this piece extra special to me. Here’s how I’ve worn it on a blustery Melbourne morning – with Wedgewood blue Asos dress, Rubi sparkling booties and vintage scarf from Trish Hunter Vintage.
It’s not truly a Ruby Slipper stylepost without a cheesy pose, is it?
