Ye olde good hair day. Oh, a thing of ego-stroking wonder – of bouncing curls, shiny locks and that uniquely delicious ‘fresh from the salon’ fragrance – practically a ‘new car smell’ for your hair. These images of my very good hair day are from a few weeks ago – they’re taken from a shoot for Organika Hair (Carlton & Elwood) who have just launched their blog with a series of ‘how to’ guides for creating classic hair looks. Click here to read their blog (featuring yours truly) and discover techniques to achieve a perfect blow-wave at home using Cloud 9 and Alterna products.
On the day of the shoot, my hair was freshly ‘balayaged’ by Sarah Di Iorio – just a lovely, warm golden blonde shade that creates contrast and lightness for winter. I’ve never been much of a fan of bleach – but this approach (i.e. no worries about touching my up hairline) is low maintenance and fashionable.
Volume really shows off the beautiful duo-colors that result from balayage. This unique shape (structured waves, volume and shine) is created by the quasi-magical Wand from Cloud 9 – available at Organika Hair salons. It has a conical shape that allows a multitude of shapes and styles, from uniform curls to pin-waves and more. I’ve tried to replicate this look with other tools, without success. Cloud 9 is the only tech for this easy looping style (who can resist a product which boasts ‘magical shine’ ingredients embedded, anyway?!)
Behold: ye olde good hair day!
