Gwendolynne @ MSFW

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week has been a flurry of activity at the house of Ruby Assembly. We’ve had the pleasure of attending several runways which we will share with you in bits and pieces over the coming week. This festival we’ve decided to present highlights of our favorite designers rather than runway overviews. On Tuesday night Melbourne Town Hall was buzzing with anticipation as the crowd awaited the latest visions from local design legends. I was so impressed with Gwendolynne‘s dreamy ‘Miss Havisham Meets The Future’ runway, her diaphanous gowns made edgier still by Richard Nylon‘s gauze ‘bonnets’. These beautiful pieces of millinery served to highlight the almost alien shape of the head, at once conjuring up images of opulent nuns, or decorated asylum patients. Tremendous drama we’re pleased to share with you.
