Who doesn’t like a mix of old favorites and new trends? Like a Grant Smillie mega-mix of 90’s dance hits mashed with Lady Gaga, Wednesday night’s AWear Fashion Event will meld old with new to create some classic fashion hits! Ruby Assembly are very much looking forward to the event (being held at Melbourne’s eponymous Whitehouse Institute of Design), and being exposed to the talent of new local designers and more established brands. Today’s short blog highlights some of the contributors to the charity-fashion event in support of the Prahran Mission.
The AWear event celebrates three years of being a widely anticipated event on the local fashion calendar, combining a fashion show highlighting the work of third year Whitehouse Institute students, a pop-up boutique and a shindig to live music. Last year the event raised $7000 for the Prahran Mission, and Whitehouse anticipates this year’s charity haul to be even bigger, providing much-needed funds to the Mission which support Melbourne’s mentally unwell and disadvantaged.
In addition to seeing new creations from Whitehouses’ best, well-known designers with pop-up stalls supporting the AWear event will include Gorman, Lisa Taranto, Alpha60, Pamela Usanto, O.T.T. by Lia T and Alexandra Blak. Word on the grapevine is that the clothing will be beautifully modelled by folk from Giant Models, and guests will be well refreshed with drinks from Red Bull and Old Mout Cider.
So join in the good times tomorrow night at 6:30pm at the Whitehouse Institute, 672 Bourke Street Melbourne. Pick up your tickets by clicking here.
