Penthouse Mouse. It’s like the hipster remix of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Located near the corner of Smith and Kerr Streets in Fitzroy, the industrial Penthouse Mouse space is deliciously cavernous and pregnant with possibility. It was just the ticket after all the highly produced gloss of the more commercial side of the festival (which is also undoubtedly enjoyable).

The Penthouse Mouse space features a range of installations (pictured above), including jewellery to purchase such as the work by Fionbharr Pfeiffer (taxidermy rabbit kitbox and all). For thirsty types who prefer a beer to a bubbly, there’s a well-stocked Sapporo bar to accompany proceedings.

Leonard Street kicked off the runway with a mixture of winter brights and a profusion of prints.

Collingwood-based The Social Studio were naughty and nice, with a marbled signature print.

Kings of Carnaby mixed buttery leathers with silky materials, slim-fit retro men’s suiting and luxe materials.

Bento also used leather and soft, luxe materials. My favorite outfit of the night was the maxi dress and coral jacket, top left. The gorgeousness of the model may have also won me over!

ULA (Upper Left Arm) showed their chops with a humorous, bright and eccentric collection. Fluoro wigs, banana smiles.
