Ruby Assembly @ Myer Runway Autumn Winter 2012

Fields of gold. Potent, femine and decidedly  art deco, golden fields of wheat are the elegant motif of Myer’s Autumn Winter Runway 2012. A collection of modest yet urbane designs from well-loved locals including Manning Cartell, Yeojin Bae, Jayson Brundson, Toni Maticevski, Fleur Wood, Leona Edmiston and more… you’re in for a treat.

Iolanthe wears: Missoni by Wolford top, Witchery drape skirt

Held at the newly-renovated Myer Mural Hall, this runway indicates a return to style for the Myer organisation. After such a successful re-imagining of one of Melbourne’s grand dames of retail, this show’s wintery glamour and art-deco sensibility matched the Mural Hall’s Napier Waller murals beautifully.

Lights up, sparkling Mount Franklin mineral water down…. let the magic begin.

Ellery. Warrior women.

Kate Sylvester. Muted tones and dense volume.

Fleur Wood.  Sarah Blasko v. Dolly Parton.

Top: Arabella Ramsay’s lo-fi popstrels. Bottom: Manning Cartell. Flowers of a winter shade.

Sass and Bide interpret Metropolis with softly glittering beadwork.

Cue: Secretaries Gone Wild. Beautiful Fanta shoes.

Simona: Canary yellow and purple plaid.

Karen Walker brightens things up.

Top: Morrison – a modern take on flapper shapes. Bottom: Arthur Galan AG does weekend style for MI5.

Aurelio Costarella: The most glamorous on runway with corselets and plumage.

Yeojin Bae: Block colour and sharp lines make the difference.

Top: T.L. Wood’s old Hollywood furs and mauve booties make a joyful palette. Bottom: Nicola Finetti in shades of textured black.

Magdalena Velevska: Sheer shapes and a particularly knock-out pair of shoes (left).

Leona Edmiston: That rich blue maxi-dress is perfect. For me.

Jayson Brundson: Jessica Hart is Peter Weir’s Miranda.

Top: Jayson Brundson channels Wallis Simpson. Bottom: Matthew Eager invites you to the red carpet.

Do you have a fashion event that could do with the wry, intelligent commentary and beautiful images of Ruby Assembly Consultants?

Yes, the Arabella Ramsay range certainly is cute. Re: Accreditation notification was sent on Friday. This year, very few bloggers were given accreditation unfortunately.
