A little over a week ago on a hot (HOT!) Melbourne night, Iolanthe of Ruby Assembly and Kirsten Reynolds of Kreatrix found themselves at  The Monastery  (ex-Hunchbacks theatre restaurant eek!) in Richmond, about to join in on a charity fundraising evening for The Spirit of The Black Dress.

A little while ago I blogged about this interesting concept, which is effectively a project which brings to the fore young Australian designers. The premise is simple – design a black dress. The results are anything but, with 10 finalists chosen  and 10 different gowns on display. The event was organised by the elegant Jane Hayes of Jane Hayes Consulting, and many industry luminaries attended including celebrity stylist Phillip Boon, Jenny Bannister, Tullia Jack, Madame Flavour and Kyra Pybus.

The evening consisted of wonderful entertaining by The Monastery staff, and a silent auction with prizes including Cloud 9 straighteners and unique ‘The O’ product, Madam Virtue voucher, Madame Flavour teas, Ruby Assembly Social Media voucher, Mimco gorgeous bag and unique Tiffany cut glass. All generous donated, and all spruiked excellently by Phillip Boon on the night.

Ruby Assembly look forward to attending the impending Gala and meeting more glamorous, interesting and active members of the artistic and marketing community. Loves it.
